How to get MMS on AT&T
Ok this seems to be a heated debate on these forums and especially on modmyifone forums. I am going to attempt to set up a mini faq/guide here to explain the process and options to add MMS to an official iPhone US AT&T plan. Note: clicking on pictures will take you to the website that is hosting the pics... click on the link I provided to go to the website where the pictures were snapped from.
First off I want to explain the basics so that everyone is on the same page. The original iPhone data/txt plan is 20 dollars a month (20/mo.) for unlimited data and 200 text messages (200 sms). This plan DOES NOT INCLUDE multimedia text messages (mms). There are two other plans for the iPhone as visually stated below: Rate Plans for iPhone

This means that for 30/mo. you can get 1500 sms and for 40/mo. you can get unlimited sms. The plans also include visual voicemail and unlimited data (email/web). NONE OF THESE PLANS INCLUDE MMS!
Now that everyone is on the same page and realizes that the iPhone plan does not include mms messages we can continue to figure out a way to get mms on the iPhone.
The easiest method in my opinion and really the ONLY method (explained later on) is to pick one of the following plans: AT&T plans

I chose Messaging Unlimited for Families because my wife and I both own iPhones and both love to text. As you can see in the description of these plans MMS IS INCLUDED. These plans are an EXTRA CHARGE on top of the original iPhone data/txt plans. Which leads me to my next point that if you decide to add these plans you should downgrade all iPhones to the 20/mo. plan that only includes unlimited data/200sms.
This breaks down as follows for me:
my iPhone: 20/mo. (unlim. data/200 sms)
her iPhone: 20/mo. (unlim. data/200 sms)
family txt plan: 30/mo. (unlim. sms, mms, etc. for everyone on family plan)
==================
70/mo. for unlimited data, txt, mms, etc. for both our phones
I will update this tomorrow morning to include some alternative methods that people have used and why or why not they work. I'll also try to give examples of what to say to the customer reps. when trying to get these options to work. Gotta get some sleep and hang out with the wife.

Re: How to get MMS on AT&T
i'm wondering if AT&T has done something to their servers to block us using them for this now. it's very strange. everythign appears to be set up correctly on my end, but zero luck in making it work.

Re: How to get MMS on AT&T
well I have been very busy with work and unable to keep up with swirlymms forums lately but as far as this topic goes. I know that some people were saying that every version past 0.3.2 made mms on att not work... I now have 0.3.5 (after a fresh install) and I am going to test it soon...
Edit: it worked when I sent it to my wife's iphone
mmsc: mmsc.cingular.com
proxy: 066.209.011.032
image size: medium
also make sure the m on the status bar in upper right corner turns fully green and is not grayed out (this means that edge/gprs is active and ready to send the message)

Re: How to get MMS on AT&T
I added the $5 messaging plan as outlined above, and using the correct MMSC settings, I now get this error: "Failed to send MMS Possible incorrect mmsc setting. Unexpected http response (HTTP/1.1 403 forbidden)."
Any ideas?

Re: How to get MMS on AT&T
Just for kicks, I put my sim card into my Blackjack and sent a picture message and it worked. So this means that the above problem is only happening on iPhones.

Re: How to get MMS on AT&T
Yeah att doesnt allow any multimedia messaging plans if you have the iphone, since its not compatible with it. Or some garbage like that...
